This map of Oudtshoorn, located in the Western Cape, is a modern and detailed map that focuses on this Little Karoo town and its iconic landmarks. These include the Grobbelaars River through the centre of the town and the Olifants River to the south, the Oudtshoorn airport to the west and the military base in the north west corner. Oudtshoorn, the self-proclaimed "ostrich capital of the world," owes its fame and fortune to the ostrich feather booms of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The town was founded in 1847 and grew exponentially as demand for ostrich feathers in Europe led to a period of immense wealth. This prosperity is reflected in the town's many "feather palaces," extravagant sandstone homes built by wealthy ostrich farmers. The town's historical context is also shaped by its location in the Little Karoo, with a history of early farming and the nearby Cango Caves, which have been a natural landmark for centuries.

Turnaround time is important to you (and to us). Each product is printed on demand so that you receive a brand new print instead of one that has been sitting on a shelf. This leads to production times that may vary, but orders will typically be shipped out within 2-6 business days with longer wait times occurring during the busy holiday periods.
