Our Old Maps have been sourced from images available in the public domain, which means either that copyright has expired in the image, or the copyright holder has waived their copyright.  These maps could have imperfections as they are sourced from historical documents. We have selected interesting maps with both historical importance and aesthetic quality for digital improvement. These images have been digitally restored and brightened to bring out the many details and landmarks, thereby improving each map as both historical reference and art work.
