Details

This map of Greyton, located in the Western Cape, is a modern and detailed map that focuses on this old agricultural village and its landmarks. These include the old village centre to the east and the suburb of Heuwelkroon to the west. The Gobos and Riviersonderend Rivers are shown as well as the foothills of the Riviersonderend Mountains to the north of the village. All of the buildings and the road infrastructure is shown.

This map is an original creation by our design studio at Africa Map Art and is based on data from various up-to-date sources.  Our default paper choice is the high quality 210gsm heavyweight coated paper with a matte finish, which achieves excellent colour and resolution which is perfect for framing.  A 260gsm satin photo paper is also available for those who prefer a different texture and finish.  We welcome personalisation and customisation requests, such as highlighting of specific buildings or features, adjusting the colour scheme, or the addition of text and images.  Please contact us for a quote.

Greyton's history is unique for its origins as an "agricultural village" established by an Englishman, Herbert Vigne, in 1854. Named after Sir George Grey, the then-Governor of the Cape, the village was designed with plots made available to people of all races, a remarkable and progressive stance for its time. The town's layout and many of its original buildings, including the original leiwater (irrigation) system, have been well-preserved. Greyton is celebrated for its old-world charm, its extensive public commonage, and its commitment to conservation, which has earned it the title of one of the most preserved villages in the Western Cape.
