Details

This map of Prince Albert, located in the Western Cape, is a modern and detailed map that focuses on this Karoo town and its iconic landmarks. These include the Swartberg Pass to the south, the long narrow town along the R407 and the olive orchards to the west of the town. All of the buildings and road infrastructures are shown.

This map is an original creation by our design studio at Africa Map Art, and is based on data from various up-to-date sources.  Our default paper choice is the high quality 210gsm heavyweight coated paper with a matte finish, which achieves excellent colour and resolution which is perfect for framing.  A 260gsm satin photo paper is also available for those who prefer a different texture and finish.  We welcome personalisation and customisation requests, such as highlighting of specific buildings or features, adjusting the colour scheme, or the addition of text and images.  Please contact us for a quote.

Prince Albert's origins trace back to a loan farm called "Kweekvallei" (Valley of Cultivation) in 1762. The town itself was proclaimed in 1845 and named in honour of Queen Victoria's consort, Prince Albert. Nestled at the foot of the Swartberg Pass, the town's history is characterized by a blend of agricultural prosperity and its role as a key gateway to the interior. Its heritage is preserved in its well-maintained Cape Dutch, Karoo, and Victorian architecture. Today, Prince Albert is celebrated for its thriving art scene, gourmet food, and as a starting point for exploring the spectacular Swartberg Pass.
