This map of the Midmar Dam, located in KwaZulu-Natal, is a modern and detailed map that focuses on this important dam and its surrounding landmarks. Midmar Dam, located on the uMgeni River near Howick, was constructed in 1965 to provide water for municipal and industrial use in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. The dam has a capacity of 235,400 cubic metres and has become a major recreational hub and is home to the world-famous Midmar Mile, an annual open-water swimming race. While its primary function remains water supply, the dam has played an important role in the region's tourism and sporting life, attracting thousands of visitors each year.
