This map of Betty's Bay, located in the Western Cape, is a modern and detailed map that focuses on this coastal village and its surrounding landmarks. Betty's Bay lies along the scenic Clarence Drive route between Gordon's Bay and Hermanus, bordered by the Kogelberg Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. This print includes nearby features such as Stony Point, Silver Sands Beach, Harold Porter National Botanical Gardens and the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, with its remarkable diversity of fynbos. The town is renowned for its natural beauty, abundant birdlife, coastal scenery and the African penguin colony at Stony Point. All of the buildings and the road infrastructure are shown.
Betty's Bay was established during the early 20th century as a small holiday settlement and is believed to have been named after Betty Youlden, the daughter of Arthur Youlden, one of the area's early property developers. The village remained relatively isolated for many years, helping to preserve its unspoilt natural environment and distinctive fynbos vegetation. Today Betty's Bay forms part of the UNESCO-designated Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve and is valued for its conservation significance, outdoor recreation, penguin colony and peaceful coastal character, making it one of the Cape's most scenic seaside villages.
Map Design and Paper
The map is an original creation by our design studio at Africa Map Art. Data for this map has been compiled from various up-to-date sources including from the OpenStreetMap contributors. The map is available in four styles and on the following two paper options and canvas: a high quality 210gsm heavyweight coated paper with a matte finish, which achieves excellent colour and resolution and is perfect for framing; a 260gsm photo paper with a smooth satin finish; and a 350gsm strengthened canvas. All of the options are shipped in a cardboard roll for protection. The canvas is unstretched and unframed.
We welcome personalisation and customisation requests, such as highlighting of specific buildings or features, adjusting the colour scheme, or the addition of text and images. Please contact us for a quote.
